Lightweight yet very strong, with superior acoustic, fire, seismic, and thermal performance,
CLT is also fast and easy to install, generating almost no waste onsite. CLT offers design flexibility and low environmental impacts. For these reasons, cross-laminated timber is proving to be a highly advantageous alternative to conventional materials like concrete, masonry, or steel.


XLAM DOLOMITI panels are composed of 3 to 9 layers of lamellar wood, have a thickness from 57 to 297 mm, and a maximum length of 13.5 meters. XLAM DOLOMITI produces preformed and shaped panels, ready to be assembled directly on site.

Assembling a structure in XLAM is extremely fast: for example, a team of three people can mount a single-family structure in three days, and a five-story building in four weeks. Since all the details are calculated and designed prior to arriving at the site, they ensure the highest quality and care of the assembly as well as the final performance of the building.

X-LAM panels are composed of at least 3 layers of coniferous wood boards; the lamellar layers are glued together transversely with formaldehyde-free glues. X-LAM panels are used as a basic element for the construction of walls, attic floors and roofs.

The buildings constructed with XLAM DOLOMITI panels are structured and designed to resist static and dynamic external actions. This data has been scientifically proven through tests carried out as part of the SOFIE project directly by CNR-IVALSA.

X-LAM structures show an exceptional air tightness and thermal insulation, able to guarantee remarkable energy savings. Wood, of course, is known for its superior insulating qualities and low thermal conductivity, thus promoting excellent insulation of the internal spaces.

The structures made in XLAM DOLOMITI panels have a high fire resistance, allowing people to safely evacuate in case of fire. As demonstrated by CNR-IVALSA (SOFIE project), buildings constructed in XLAM in some cases do not cause any structural damage to the bearing structure of a dwelling.

The materials used in the stratigraphic (packets) of the walls and attic floors can silence the noise coming from the outside, ensuring an acoustic insulation meeting and exceeding the limits set by the regulations in force. The internal surfaces also contribute to absorbing noise, ensuring a high level of comfort.

The rules regulating bio-building and energy saving are the guidelines used in XLAM panels constructions. Wood is a natural material. XLAM wood panels hold certifications that attest to the responsible use of the forest resource.

A structure made with XLAM panels ensures about 6% more walkable surface compared to a traditional building erected on the same gross surface.

The constructive system provided by XLAM DOLOMITI allows a precise determination of the actual building times and costs of the future building. This is made possible by careful planning of all the work phases of every single project.

The technology used by XLAM DOLOMITI guarantees the durability of the wood over the decades. Just look at some of the famous examples of historic structures to break the myth that wooden buildings do not last in time: the oldest wooden house in Europe (Casa Nideröst - Switzerland) is over 800 years old!
